Cheng Yu Tung College (CYTC) successfully held the second High Table Dinner for this academic year in the evening of January 17, 2018. The distinguished guest speaker of the High Table Dinner was the CEO of Hong Kong and Macau of AirAsia, Ms. Celia Lao. Other High Table guests included Vice Rector (Academic Affairs) of University of Macau (UM), Prof. Lionel Ming-Shuan Ni; College Master of Lui Che Woo College, Prof. Yip Ming Chuen; College Master of Chao Kuang Piu College, Dr. Lau Yun Tung; Registrar, Prof. Yuen Ka Veng; Dean of Students, Mr. Pang Chap Chong (Paul); Director of Communications Office, Ms. Katrina Cheong; College Fellow of CYTC, Dr. Shi Wei and Dr. Wang Ying; and Head of Student Resources Section of Student Affairs Office and Special Assistant to Vice Rector (Academic Affairs), Mr. Cheong Hok Sam. We also had some guests sitting among students, including Mr. Ricky Chan and Ms. Lisa Lam from AirAsia; Affiliates of CYTC, Dr. Hu Guanghui, Dr. Kwan Fung, and Dr. Cai Tian Ji; and four international exchange students from the U.S.A. and Brazil. In addition, we also had 10 exchange students from Freshman College of Taiwan Chengchi University led by their Fellow Mr. Chen Li Wei.

CYTC took this opportunity to present the awards to the recipients of CYTC Contribution Scholarship and Residential College Foundation Scholarship of 2017. The scholarship was to honor CYTC students who had outstanding performances and contribution to the College in the previous year. We were delighted to have Vice Rector Ni and College Master Prof. Chung to give awards to those 42 recipients.

Ms. Celia Lao gave a speech about “Be the Best of Yourself Everyday”. She talked about her story of from being a Macau airport staff to a CEO of Hong Kong and Macau of AirAsia. Preparation, initiatives and opportunity were the key points of her success. Ms. Celia Lao is also an alumni of UM and her career fighting experience undoubtedly impressed all the audience. More than 280 college members of CYTC attended the High Table Dinner and certainly enjoyed the speech and dinner.
