Master Chung and Students of Cheng Yu Tung College

in “A Fair Society of Arts and Sciences”, Chinese University of Hong Kong

 

On October 10 and 11, 2016, Master Chung Ling took 9 selected students of Cheng Yu Tung College to participate in an exchange educational program “A Fair Society in Arts and Sciences”, co-organized by Professor Hsiung Ping-chen, Director of Taiwan Research Center, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the College of Public Health of Taiwan University. This program was attended by 12 scholars from CUHK, NTWU, and University of Macau, 10 students from NTWU and 9 students from UM. The contents of the program includes a visit to Hong Kong History Museum and on October 11 attending one whole day of academic activities. In the morning four papers by scholars, were presented in a symposium on public health and humanities, in which Professor Chung Ling presented a paper “Hong Kong People’s Passion in Pervading Commercialism: on Two Films”. In the afternoon students from NTWU and UM presented their learning result. 5 UM students jointly gave a talk on “Cultural Communication between China and the West—the Important Role of Macau in the 16th Century” while 4 of our students gave a talk on “Healthy Living: Psychological Development and Depression”. UM students did it so well that Professor Hsiung praised our students’ good cooperation and rich contents, and Professor Liao Hsienhao said that our students’ presentation is “very commanding”.
